For an effective presentation, you must connect with your audience. If you are enthusiastic about what you are presenting about, the audience will be more likely to respond and be more active. Sending a key message across is also important. It's easy to get off topic sometimes but if you can effectively present your main message, then the presentation will be that much better. Finally, use your voice to your advantage. Listening to a monotone presentation is uninteresting for the audience. Changing up your tone of voice can engage everyone to listen more attentively.

This website states that practice makes perfect. If you practise for the presentation the day before, you will not do as well as you should. Practising a few days in advance will make a big difference.

When you have to talk for any presentation (not just SCICAN), don't think that it is necessary to memorize what you need to say. Otherwise, there is a 99% chance that you will mess up somewhere. Instead, understand what you are talking about. Rehearse it a few times, and let your knowledge take it away. You will feel more confident, and your speech will feel more natural to the audience (which is what they want from you).

In this video Will Stephen talks about how to seem smart in your presentation. In the video he talks about literally nothing, but it still seems smart. Why? I have noticed a few things he did. 1. Seem confident - He seemed very confident in everything he said, which made me believe at least some of it could be something. 2. Changes in tone and speed. - This engages the audience and makes it more interesting. 3. Body language. - He makes hand gestures, and adjusts his glasses which makes him seem smarter.

Here are a few top tips for presentations. Make sure to show your passion and connect with your audience. Try and keep it simple: focus on your core message. Tell stories, humans are programmed to respond to stories. Remember to relax, breathe and enjoy.

Stay relaxed! Being tense can make you look robotic, and the stress can also affect your fluency. Try to focus on something during the presentation, whether it is the pace of the words you are speaking, the pace of your breathing, or anything else that stops you from worrying about failing.
